Grant and I made a bird feeder for the backyard out of a juice carton. I cut out the sides and he painted it.
He really enjoyed painting it!
It took about a day, but there have been birds eating from it. I've since added a dowel stick straight through two of the sides so larger birds will also eat from it.

Neat idea. I have two orange juice cartons that I am saving for the boys. Maybe we will make them next week!
