Bradenton Beach

Last Tuesday, Grant and I went to Bradenton Beach with Michelle B. We had a great time even if the weather wasn't the best. It poured the whole way there, but had stopped by the time we arrived. On the way home, we stopped and got some homemade ice cream. It was delicious!!
Getting ready to build a sandcastle.
The waves were large most of the time we were there. They were big enough to knock me off balance when I was in the water.

Michelle helping Grant keep his balance on the sand
So proud of himself to be walking on sand
He was talking into the buckets, listening to his voice echo
Someone at the beach said these were sand fleas, but I'm not sure if that is correct. This was one of the bigger ones we saw (about 1 in.). Most were around a quarter inch or smaller in size. You would see them after a wave washed up to shore, they would start swimming/darting back to the water and burrow into the sand. It was a little creepy to realize there were so many of these things in the water with us!
