Day Five

We headed to Mackinac Island bright and early. No motor vehicles are allowed on the island; you either walk, bike, or ride in a horse drawn carraige. We had brought our bikes on the ferry, so we decided to explore the island for a little while. We biked around the shops for a bit then decided to head to the Grand Hotel. The sun was finally out so we decided to get some tea and coffee and enjoy it on the porch of the Grand Hotel. We biked through some of the neighborhoods with their beautiful homes and also through the state park where we saw some of the rock formations on the island. It ended up being a beautiful day, the best weather we had on our vacation (sunny and 62*)

We biked the state road around the perimeter of the island while Grant was napping in the bike trailer. It is 8 miles around the island and full of beautiful sites and sounds of nature.
